Janine Sides is a storyteller and cinematographer who finds inspiration in crafting cinematic language around each story that she tackles. Janine fell in love with photography at the age of sixteen after stealing her step-father’s SLR. After earning a bachelor's degree in journalism, she began working as a photojournalist for the U.S. Department of State covering White House and State Department events. She decided to dive into moving pictures and earned an MFA in Film and TV Production from USC. While at USC she received the Sun Cinematography Scholarship and the Edward Thomas Troutner Endowed Scholarship. Since graduating, her body of work consists of film, TV, music videos, commercials, and documentaries. Some of her recent clients include HBO, Google, Amazon, NIKE, and Snapchat as well as DP’ing the Lip Sync Battle Pre-Show for Paramount Pictures. Janine is a member of the International Cinematographer’s Guild. A former member of the L.A. Derby Dolls, when she is not telling stories or behind a camera she enjoys roller skating with her two unruly dogs.
